Carpe Diem

I first heard the above latin phrase after listening to a song by Metallica titled Carpe Diem baby from their album Reload many years ago. I learned that it means 'seize the day.' Huh! Who would have thought that we can learn a foreign phrase by listening to a rock song!

Well, I'm seizing the day by creating this blog. Truth is I've been thinking about having my own blog many months before...but keep delaying it...definitely not carpe diem but carpe diem cras - seize the day tomorrow (in Wikipedia it is said that carpe diem cras is a procrastinator's motto)...suit me well...lol

I guess seize the day means we should live and make out the best of the present moment. Live like there's no tomorrow. How many of us would spend much of our time brooding about the past and worrying about the future? The truth is the past is gone...today is all we have...and the future? It's indefinite.

In his best-selling book Don't Be Sad,
Dr. 'Aid Abdullah Al-Qarni wrote:

"'Today is my only day' is one of the most important statements in the dictionary of happiness, for those who
desire to live life in its fullest splendor and brilliance."
So seize the day...carpe diem, baby...
